After Irma

I have been a frequent visitor of the Florida Keys, primarily Islamorada, since I was a little girl. I even had the privilege of living, working, and photographing there during the summer of 2017. Just a month after leaving my job the return to school, the Florida Keys were hit by a Category 5 hurricane. 25% of homes were destroyed and 65% suffered incredible damage.

In December, I returned to the Keys to document some of the lasting damage as well as the cleanup. In March, I returned a second time to photograph the remaining debris.

For more of the story, see After Irma, which provides more of a personal archive rather than photographs of the damage
